Code of Conduct

By picking up your badge, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct for the full weekend.

20XXpo exists so attendees can have fun celebrating 40 years of Mega Man together. To keep it that way, LemonAID Events has put these rules in place so that no one attendee's behavior gets in the way of everyone else's good time. 20XXpo welcomes everyone, but we reserve the right to deny or revoke anyone's attendance, at any time, for any reason, if their presence or behavior seriously interferes with event operations or our relationship with guests, vendors, or the venue. We also reserve the right to update this Code of Conduct at any time. If you have questions, reach out to 2027@20XXpo.com.

General Decorum

20XXpo is meant to be comfortable for Mega Man fans of every age and background. All event space is considered PG-15 at all times, unless a specific panel, screening, or activity is clearly marked as intended for mature audiences only.

Please be considerate of everyone around you: other attendees, guests, vendors, and Lynnwood Event Center staff. Keep noise, horseplay, and disruptive behavior to a level appropriate for a shared public space, and cooperate with 20XXpo staff, venue staff, and local law enforcement if asked to stop or step aside.

Attendance by Minors

Anyone under 18 who isn't accompanied by a parent or legal guardian must have a signed parental consent form on file before they can attend unaccompanied. 20XXpo can't take responsibility for the actions of individual attendees, and doesn't assume responsibility for minors attending on a signed consent form. Even with consent on file, a minor may not enter any activity marked for mature audiences only unless a parent or legal guardian is with them.

Entering the event as a minor under false pretenses, or with forged or falsified consent documentation, will result in immediate removal from the event and may be reported to local authorities.

Cosplay, Props & Weapons

Cosplay is welcome and encouraged at 20XXpo. Unlike a hotel convention, most attendees will arrive already in costume, so cosplay prop and weapon check-in happens right at Registration when you pick up your badge. If you register before you have your cosplay with you and bring your props on a later day, you'll need to stop back by Registration to get those props checked before wearing or carrying them anywhere on the event floor. See our Dress Code for the full rules on what's allowed, from coverage requirements to prop restrictions.

Props with sharp corners, metal rods, or other elements that could realistically hurt someone will not be allowed. When in doubt about whether a prop will pass, ask us ahead of time.

No real weapons, and nothing that could reasonably be mistaken for one, may be carried at 20XXpo at any time, openly or concealed, cosplay or not. This applies regardless of any concealed carry permit. If a prop is held or used in a threatening way, it will be treated as a real weapon, up to and including removal from the event and referral to local law enforcement.

Harassment

20XXpo is dedicated to a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, color, religion, national origin, age, or any other personal characteristic. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated, including physical assault, sexual assault, sexual harassment, deliberate intimidation, stalking, unwelcome photography or recording, and unwelcome physical contact.

If someone tells you “no” or asks you to leave them alone, do so. Don't follow them or continue seeking them out. Continued unwelcome attention toward another attendee can get your badge revoked without refund and may bar you from future 20XXpo events, regardless of whether it rises to the level of a legal violation.

This policy protects attendees, guests, panelists, vendors, staff, and volunteers alike. Everyone should feel comfortable reporting harassment involving anyone associated with 20XXpo, regardless of their role. No retaliation against someone for making a good-faith report will be tolerated. If you experience or witness harassment, or need help feeling safe at 20XXpo, please reach out to a staff member on site or email 2027@20XXpo.com. Reports are kept confidential except where the law, or a serious safety concern, requires otherwise. Knowingly making a false harassment report against someone is itself a violation of this policy.

Alcohol & Substances

Alcohol will be available for purchase at a cash bar at the Lynnwood Event Center. We check ID at Registration: if you're 21 or older, you'll get a wristband there, and that wristband is the only way to be served alcohol at the cash bar for the rest of the weekend. Outside alcohol isn't permitted anywhere in the venue. Anyone caught providing alcohol to someone under 21, or drinking underage, will be removed from the event and reported to local authorities.

The sale or distribution of illegal or controlled substances is strictly prohibited and will be reported directly to local law enforcement.

Personal Property & Equipment

If you're bringing equipment for use at 20XXpo (consoles, controllers, computers, or anything else), check it in with staff so it can be tracked back to your badge. 20XXpo will take reasonable care of checked-in equipment but isn't responsible for loss, theft, or damage; equipment left in event space is left at the owner's own risk. Equipment made available for public use (console lounges, arcade cabinets, and the like) is subject to normal wear and tear from everyone sharing it.

Recording, Photography & Media

By attending 20XXpo, you consent to being photographed or recorded by other attendees and by 20XXpo. If you'd rather not have your photo taken, let a staff member know. If someone keeps photographing or recording you after you've asked them to stop, that's harassment (see above).

If you'd rather not be photographed or recorded at all, stop by Registration for a free wristband and badge ribbon. We'll ask press and our official camera operators to avoid anyone wearing one as much as they reasonably can. It's not a guarantee (we can't control every camera in the room), but it's a clear signal to everyone working the event on our behalf.

You're welcome to share your own photos and videos from the weekend. If you record panels, concerts, or other 20XXpo programming, you keep the rights to your own footage, but you grant 20XXpo a non-exclusive license to use it, and you don't gain any rights to the underlying content (music, games, guest appearances, etc.) captured in it. 20XXpo may also use photos and video from the event, including footage from official Virtual Badge streams, for archival and promotional purposes.

Payments & Disputes

We'll always try to resolve a payment issue directly and in good faith, so please reach out to us before filing a chargeback. A chargeback filed to avoid payment, without cause, or without first giving us a chance to make it right may result in your badge being revoked. Refunds, when issued, go back to the original payment method.

Enforcement

This Code of Conduct is enforced by 20XXpo staff on site. Staff may ask to see your badge at any time to confirm you're a registered attendee, and if you're asked to leave the event for a Code of Conduct violation, you'll be asked to surrender it. If you disagree with an action taken by a staff member, you can bring it to 2027@20XXpo.com. All local, state, and federal laws apply at 20XXpo just as they do anywhere else.

These rules exist for worst-case scenarios, not because we expect the worst from our attendees. Thanks for helping us keep 20XXpo safe and welcoming. Now go have fun.
